Thus far in class you have been working in collaboration with other students to create performances and work on dramatic exercises. How has this experience been for you? Explain the advantages and the disadvantages. Elaborate on the process of “group dynamics” (please do not use other student names)
Every group that I have had the honor of being involved with has been very dynamic. I love the ebb and flow off a group. It's great fun to feed ideas back and forth and reach a common theme that we are all happy with. It is important to establish some sort of cohesiveness. Group work forces you to fully engage all of your problem-solving skills. The most fun for me is the process of it all. Its wonderful to see how with collaboration you can do things you would not have thought of on your own. In theatre creativity is important but your ability to work as a group and create together is more so. There are disadvantages to group work, and strong personality's can often clash. Some times ideas get shot down, this can be a particularly ruff time. This is why every group should look at the idea of every member equally before shooting it down. Balance, respect, and leadership is very important. Thank you, and as always Smile 8^ )

i like doing performances in class they're a lot fun it gives everyone a chance to get to know each other. i don't think they're is any disadvantages, but they're advantages because i feel a little bit more confident performing a little skit in front of everyone. i like every group that i have been in because everyone has different ideas and its fun to come up with stuff.
ReplyDeleteEvery performance I have performed in class has been a different experience for me. Acting for me is a totally different experience. A couple of advantages towards collaborating in groups are getting to know everyone in the group. Another advantage in working with a group is that I feel a bit more confident when up on stage. For disadvantages I would say that sometimes people have different views on how they want to act it out, but overall everyone does their role and the exercise gets done.
ReplyDeleteI love to work with people. I liked all the groups that I have been. The are lots of advantage when you work in groups. You learn how to comunicate, you learn how to share ideas, you learn how to listen and wait for your turn, and many other things. I think that the disavantages are when you don't get into an agreement or when somebody wants to give all the idea and don't let others express themselves. I love working in groups and I am loving this class, we can learn and have fun at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI USUAL HATE TO WORK IN A GROUP, BUT THIS HAS BEEN ALOT OF FUN FOR ME.IT ALLOWS ME TO OPEN UP AS WELL AS GET TO KNOW MY CLASS MATES AND SEE HOW THEIR IMAGINATION WORKS. THE ONLY DISADVANTAGE IS THAT SOME TIME YOU GET THAT PARTNER THAT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING BUT STAND THERE LIKE A ASS. I UNDERSTAND THAT SOME PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO LOOK STUPID IN PUBLIC, BUT THEY COULD AT LEAST TRY.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy working with different, some groups I find more enjoyable than others. I enjoy th different ideas that get thrown around when tryin to come to a conclusion on a play. In group performances we get to see the different personalities and the creative minds of others.
ReplyDeleteThe disadvantages of working in a group is that some times not everyone creative side gets the chance to shine through and few of the performers creativity doesn't really get to shine through as much as they would like.
The advantage is that different you get to learn different things and ideas from others. It is good to see the different creativity that people have to offer and it is good to learn to how to work together as a group
So far i have greatly enjoyed working in groups. My best partnerships have been with Gabrielle, Ally, and Amin. The only disadvantage is i havent gotten to work with everybody yet. But i have enjoyed the process nonetheless
ReplyDeleteworking in groups has been a good way to learn new ideas and gain new point of views from different peoples perspectives. i have worked with mostly everyone and everyone is great in their own way. a disadvantage would be you cannot be selfish and do what YOU want to do.
ReplyDeleteThe group exercises have been very interesting because of the different personalities of everyone.Advantages would be more people to help with more ideas because other people can see things from different points of view that you may not see.Disadvantage could be if a person in the group is unfamilliar with the subject at hand. Things can get confusing for the whole group if that happens because everyone isnt ont the same page.
